Dysphagia

Dysphagia is the medical term for swallowing difficulties. Some people with dysphagia have problems swallowing certain foods or liquids, while others can’t swallow at all. Dysphagia can be caused by many diseases, including

  • Stroke

  • Traumatic brain injury

  • Aging

  • Parkinson’s

  • Other diseases or traumas that can cause dysfunction of the mouth or throat, such as the radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer, eating difficulties after oral cancer surgery, congenital problems such as premature babies, underdeveloped brains, etc.
